A few notes for me.
- How about a simple sine wave in Ableton or a similar DAW.
- Add in some distortion or Over drive.
- Draw in some automation.
- ofc, you can
- double the track.
- Add space with an octave.
- Add chorus, by bumping one of them.
Normally I grab sounds and use default settings, but just layer a bunch of them to design a sort of composite sound if you will. That has its own pro’s and con’s, and I wanted to start adding a new tool to the belt, so I figured I should start learning how to create some sounds from scratch with the tools that come with ableton.
Watched a video on sound design for me. Kind of like a “sound design for idiots”. Anyway this was a simple trick to design a simple dirty synth sound. I have to say I quite like what I ended up with. This first experiment has ended up in a new track. Details on that to follow….
